Nottingham Forest have reportedly earmarked Aston Villa attacker Jacob Ramsey as a top transfer target.
Forest recently sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United, while Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.
As a result, the Tricky Trees may need to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, especially as they need a squad capable of balancing domestic with European football.
According to The Telegraph, Forest have made Ramsey their ‘primary target’ for the current transfer window.
Forest are understood to be long-term admirers of the Villa man, although he is also attracting interest from Everton and West Ham United.
Villa could be open to selling their academy product, considering that his departure would be noted as pure profit on the club’s balance sheet.
There is a suggestion that Villa could demand more than £30m for a player who is under contract until June 2027.
Ramsey, who can play as a winger or a number 10, has made 167 competitive appearances for the Villans, contributing 14 goals and 17 assists.
Bournemouth hold firm on Zabarnyi valuation
Meanwhile, Bournemouth are reportedly refusing to compromise on their asking price for Paris Saint-Germain defender Illia Zabarnyi.
The Cherries have already lost two key defenders this summer, having sold centre-back Dean Huijsen and left-back Milos Kerkez to Real Madrid and Liverpool respectively.
They are now facing a battle to keep Zabarnyi at the Vitality Stadium, amid significant interest from Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
According to The Independent, the two clubs have been in discussions for weeks, but are yet to reach an agreement over a transfer.
PSG have made proposals worth up to €60m (£52m), which ultimately fell below Bournemouth's valuation for the Ukraine international.
The Cherries have placed a €70m (£61m) price-tag on Zabarnyi and have made it clear that they will not budge from their valuation.
Bournemouth are under no immediate pressure to sanction a sale, with the central defender under contract until the summer of 2029.
Middlesbrough working on Ings signing
Middlesbrough are reportedly in discussions over a move to sign former West Ham forward Danny Ings.
The 32-year-old is searching for a new club after leaving the Hammers upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.
According to talkSPORT, Middlesbrough are among the contenders to sign the former England international this summer.
The report claims that Boro are in talks with the free agent, as they look to improve upon last season’s 10th-placed finish.
Former Luton Town manager Rob Edwards is preparing for his first season as Boro boss after being named as Michael Carrick’s replacement last month.
Middlesbrough are keen to add to their current forward options, which include Tommy Conway and Marcus Forss.
Ings previously scored 27 goals in 87 Championship appearances for Burnley, although he has not played in the second tier since 2014.
