Leeds United have reportedly come to an agreement with Newcastle United over a move for Sean Longstaff.
The newly-promoted Premier League outfit are thought to have already failed with three offers for the central midfielder since the opening of the summer transfer window.
However, according to Sky Sports News, a breakthrough has now arrived, with Newcastle accepting an offer in the region of £12m for the 27-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract with the Magpies.
Longstaff is an academy graduate and therefore his sale would count as pure profit under the Premier League's rules surrounding profit and sustainability, making it an important exit for Eddie Howe's side.
The midfielder is also believed to have been on the radar of a number of other top-flight clubs this summer.
Longstaff is set to leave Newcastle having represented them on 214 occasions in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and registering 11 assists in the process.
Last season, the Englishman made 32 appearances for the Magpies, including 25 outings in the Premier League.
Man United-linked midfielder Rios 'says yes' to Roma
Meanwhile, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios has communicated his desire to join Roma during this summer's transfer window.
The 25-year-old impressed for Palmeiras at the 2025 World Cup, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future, with Manchester United believed to be keen on his signature.
However, Romano claims that Rios has 'said yes' to joining Roma this summer.
It is alleged that Zenit St Petersburg have failed with an approach for the midfielder, who communicated that he was not interested in joining the Russian outfit this summer.
Roma's latest offer for Rios is said to be €24m (£20.8m) plus add-ons, short of the Brazilian club's €30m (£26m) asking price, but the Colombia international wants to move to Serie A.
Benfica are also believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding the South American.
West Ham 'make Aguerd decision' amid loan interest
Elsewhere, West Ham United have reportedly made it clear that they are not interested in allowing Nayef Aguerd to leave on loan during this summer's transfer window.
Roma are said to be pushing to sign the centre-back on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.
However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham have ruled out another loan departure for Aguerd, as the Hammers are only interested in a permanent sale.
The 29-year-old spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Real Sociedad, featuring on 36 occasions for the Basque outfit, including 21 outings in the top flight of Spanish football.
Aguerd has made 58 appearances during his two seasons for West Ham, having arrived from Rennes in 2022, but he is expected to be on the move during this summer's transfer window.
The Morocco international's contract at the London Stadium is due to expire in June 2027.
