Bournemouth have confirmed that they have signed Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic on a long-term contract.
With Petrovic having been left out of the Blues Club World Cup squad, it has been clear for a number of weeks that he would be departing Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.
The Serbia international's stock was already high ahead of last year's loan switch to Strasbourg before he was named as the club's Player of the Season.
As a result, Chelsea were prepared for a fee in the region of £25m, making a significant profit on the £14m that they shelled out on Petrovic when acquiring him from New England Revolution two years.
On Wednesday afternoon, Bournemouth formally announced that the 25-year-old had become a Cherries player.

What is Petrovic contract length?
Petrovic has penned a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium and essentially becomes a straight replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who returned to Chelsea after a loan stint and signed for Arsenal.
With Mark Travers having joined Everton, the expectation is that Petrovic will be number one between the sticks with Neto acting as deputy.
Speaking to the club's official website, Petrovic said: "I’m really happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level.
"Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”
President of football operations Tiago Pinto added: "I’m really pleased to bring Djordje to the club. The opportunity to sign a player of his calibre in the market was one we had to take, particularly given how vital the position of a goalkeeper is.
“We have been looking for the right talent to invest in within this area of the pitch and Djordje has very impressive qualities, as well as a lot of experience for someone who is still young. We are excited that he is the one coming to join our project and look forward to working with him.”
Is Bournemouth the right club for Petrovic?
Earlier in the summer transfer window, there was talk of Petrovic moving to a different Ligue 1 club or another team competing in one of European football's top five leagues.
Instead, he has opted for stability on the South coast with the motivation to prove himself having previously made 23 Premier League appearances for Chelsea in 2023-24.
When you consider that Petrovic has kept 17 clean sheets from 62 outings for the Blues and Strasbourg, he could have perhaps waited for a bigger club than Bournemouth.
That said, he needs to find a permanent home when he can try to further enhance his reputation, something which would naturally improve Bournemouth's hopes of qualifying for Europe.
