Kyle Lafferty expecting to be fit for Northern Ireland Euro 2016 opener

Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty hints that he will be fit to face Poland in their Euro 2016 opener despite concerns over a groin problem.

Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has hinted that he will be fit for his side's opening Euro 2016 match against Poland on Sunday.

The 28-year-old limped out of training on Tuesday and was not involved with the rest of the team in today's session, spending the morning on an exercise bike instead.

The striker has since undergone tests on the groin problem, however, and seemed to suggest that he has been given the all-clear to return to action.

Northern Ireland, whose current 12-match unbeaten streak is the longest of any team at this summer's tournament, will also face Ukraine and Germany at Euro 2016.
