Striker Will Grigg says that he is ready to make an impact at Euro 2016 should he be called upon by manager Michael O'Neil.

Striker Will Grigg has said that he is in "the best form of his life" as he continues to prepare for Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 opener with Poland.

Grigg, who scored 28 goals in all competitions for Wigan Athletic last season, is expected to start the Nice showdown on the bench but the forward has backed himself to make an impact should he be called upon by manager Michael O'Neil.

The 24-year-old is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "I'm happy to be here, to be a part of it. I want to get as many minutes as possible. I'm in the best form of my life and if I'm called upon I'm ready for it.

"I was always involved in squads so I was confident I'd be part of it. I think there was one squad I missed out on in the qualifiers. I always thought I'd been in and about it, and that good bit of form put me in good stride. I found myself in red-hot form."

Grigg has scored one goal in eight appearances for his country, coming in a friendly against Belarus last month.
