Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana may have been handed a lifeline amidst reports Ruben Amorim has settled on upgrading other areas of the pitch first.
The Red Devils are set to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday in the Premier League following their remarkable 5-4 victory against Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday.
Amorim's side advanced into the semi-finals of the competition after winning 7-6 on aggregate, but the tie may have been more straightforward had shot-stopper Onana not made two critical errors in the first leg leading to goals.
The Cameroonian has faced significant criticism for his performances since arriving from Inter Milan ahead of the 2023-24 season, with some reports suggesting that the club would be keen to move him on.
However, The Mirror claim that United would only be willing to sell the goalkeeper for a fee in excess of £20m, while Amorim himself sees strengthening other positions as more of a priority.

Should United upgrade on Onana?
There is an argument that United have not yet played to Onana's strengths, with the 29-year-old having excelled in Italy and the Netherlands when he has had the ball at his feet.
Onana has never been the greatest goalkeeper with his hands, but his previous clubs have managed to shield his weaknesses by limiting the number of shots he has had to deal with.
United have faced 47.4 xG in the Premier League this season, the eighth-worst return of any club in the top flight so far this campaign.
However, whether the Cameroonian would represent a long-term option for Amorim remains to be seen given his age and the fact that he has not yet shown he can be trusted in goal.

What are United's priorities?
The Red Devils have only managed to score 38 goals in the league this term, making them the sixth-worst offensive side in the division.
Striker Rasmus Hojlund has failed to impress in the final third, with the forward only finding the back of the net three times in the top flight.
It should be noted that while number nines such as Viktor Gyokeres have been linked to Old Trafford, Amorim would likely face competition from Arsenal for his signature.
