Real Madrid are allegedly giving serious consideration to re-signing left-back Miguel Gutierrez from Girona this summer.

Real Madrid are reportedly giving serious consideration to re-signing Miguel Gutierrez from Girona this summer.

The 23-year-old came through the youth system at Bernabeu, representing Los Blancos on 10 occasions, before making the move to Girona in 2022, and he has excelled for the Catalan outfit.

Gutierrez has made 112 appearances for Girona, scoring six times and registering 19 assists in the process, while he played in the Champions League for his current side earlier this season.

Real Madrid retained 50% of Gutierrez's rights when they sold him to Girona, while it is understood that the club also have a sell-on clause, giving them an advantage when it comes to the race for his services.

There is believed to be other interest in Gutierrez this summer, with Manchester United also thought to be admirers, while Girona are currently in relegation danger in La Liga, and he would certainly leave if the club dropped into the Segunda Division.

Real Madrid 'considering re-signing' Gutierrez

According to Relevo, Real Madrid have already held internal talks over the possibility of re-signing Gutierrez, who has a release clause of €35m (£30m) in his contract, meaning that he could potentially return to Bernabeu for €17.5m (£15m).

Gutierrez has proven himself to be a strong performer in La Liga, now featuring on 107 occasions in the competition, while his experience of Champions League football also makes him an attractive proposition.

Real Madrid are planning changes to their defensive unit this summer, with Lucas Vazquez likely to leave on a free transfer, while the club are also believed to be keen to move David Alaba on due to his substantial wages.

Ferland Mendy's ongoing injury issues are concerning, while Fran Garcia has found it difficult to convince on a consistent basis, so there is space open at left-back for a new addition during the summer market.

Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid this summer?

Rodrygo's future is one to watch ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, with the Brazil international said to be giving serious consideration to leaving Bernabeu this summer.

The forward has allegedly become unsettled following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, and there have been claims that there could be a switch back to the 4-3-1-2 formation which brought so much success last term.

Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave as head coach this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso potentially replacing him, and Jude Bellingham could switch back to the number 10 spot for next term, behind Vinicius Junior and Mbappe.

Such a change would leave no space for Rodrygo, with Premier League clubs believed to be on high alert.

Rodrygo, who has scored 13 goals and registered 10 assists in 50 appearances for Real Madrid this season, will not be involved in Sunday's La Liga clash with Celta Vigo due to an illness.
