Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood says that his side "dropped two points" against Southampton on Sunday.

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has said that his side "dropped two points" in Sunday afternoon's Premier League clash with Southampton at St Mary's.

The Red Devils had to come from behind to secure a point in a 1-1 draw with the Saints, as Greenwood cancelled out a deflected effort from Che Adams in the first period.

Greenwood has said that Ralph Hasenhuttl's side made it "difficult" for the 20-time English champions, but the 19-year-old is frustrated that his team were unable to leave St Mary's with the win.

"It was a difficult game, Southampton defended well but in my eyes we dropped two points," Greenwood told Sky Sports News. "When we got the equaliser we should have gone for the throats, the time went away and we did not get the winner towards the end."

Greenwood has now scored in both of his Premier League appearances this season, while he has netted 32 times in 108 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will be looking to return to winning ways in England's top flight when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers next weekend.
