Liverpool are reportedly set to announce the signing of Puskas Academy goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.
The Reds are looking to add to their shot-shopping ranks following the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford earlier in the window.
The Republic of Ireland international had a single year left on his Anfield contract but has since secured a switch to the Gtech Community Stadium.
The likes of West Ham United, Bournemouth and Leeds United were all supposedly keen on securing the services of the goalkeeper.
Kelleher has sealed an £18m switch to Brentford, where he will replace Mark Flekken, who has moved to Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool agree deal for Hungarian goalkeeper?
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are closing in on the capture of an instant replacement for the departed Kelleher.
The report claims that the title-winning Reds are set to agree a deal for Pecsi, who is currently playing for Puskas Academy in the top flight of Hungary.
It is understood that Puskas Academy are set to receive a club-record fee for the 20-year-old, starting their summer business off on an excellent footing.
It is believed that Pecsi has agreed to the 'Liverpool project' and will become the backup option for Alisson Becker in between the sticks at Anfield.
Personal terms have supposedly been agreed between the player and the Reds, with only club-to-club arrangements standing in the way of a confirmed deal.
Pecsi's Puskas success
After making 16 appearances at club level during the 2023-24 campaign, Pecsi has stepped up his goalkeeping progression during the 2024-25 term.
The 20-year-old established himself as the first-choice option for the Hungarian side, who finished second behind Ferencvaros in the top flight.
Pecsi had a positive individual campaign in between the sticks, keeping nine clean sheets across 30 top-flight appearances.
