Arsenal have reportedly made a step forward in their pursuit of RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko.
A whole host of Premier League outfits are looking to secure the services of a number nine this summer, including Manchester United, who are chasing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.
The super Swede has supposedly failed to rule out a switch to Old Trafford this summer despite the Red Devils missing out on European qualification.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are preparing for another campaign in the Champions League following a third straight second-placed finish.
During the 2025-26 campaign, Mikel Arteta's men will be given the remit of moving into the top position and claiming the Premier League crown.
Arsenal advancing in Sesko talks?
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are moving towards the signing of a high-profile striker during the summer window.
The report claims that the Gunners have commenced discussions with Sesko over a possible switch to the Emirates Stadium during the off-season.
It is understood that discussions are progressing well between Arsenal and the Slovenia international as the first transfer window of the summer approaches its end.
That being said, there is supposedly yet to be an agreement in place between any of the parties involved, meaning that a confirmed deal is still a while away.
However, it is believed that talks are advancing as the Gunners hone in on one of their main priorities of the summer transfer window.
Sesko's season in numbers
Sesko enjoyed a steady campaign in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig last season, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists across 33 Bundesliga appearances.
The Slovenian striker also shone in the Champions League, netting four goals in eight appearances during the League Phase of the competition.
Leipzig were unable to make the top 24 of the standings, with Sesko likely to achieve that feat if he switches to Arsenal for 2025-26.
