Nottingham Forest will be looking to end a 54-year winless run when they face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest will attempt to end a 54-year winless run when they face Liverpool on Saturday.

After winning promotion from the Championship last season, Forest are currently embroiled in a battle to preserve their Premier League status.

Having failed to win their last 10 league games, Forest are languishing in the relegation zone with two points separating them from safety.

Forest were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United last time out, and their task does not get any easier as they prepare to face three top-half teams in the next week.

Steve Cooper's side will travel to Anfield on Saturday, before facing Brighton & Hove Albion at home in midweek, and they will round off a busy seven-day period with an away fixture against Brentford.

With Forest desperate for victories, they will look to end a 54-year winless run when they face Liverpool this weekend.

The East Midlands side have not won any of their last 23 away league games against Liverpool since winning 2-0 in February 1969.

After beating Liverpool 1-0 in the reverse fixture, the visitors also have the chance to complete their first league double over the Merseyside club since the 1962-63 season.

Claiming all three points may prove to be an impossible task though, as Forest have won just one of their 15 Premier League away games this season.

Their sole away win in the top flight this season took place on January 4 when they claimed a narrow 1-0 victory against Southampton.
