Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward is reportedly wanted by Wrexham this summer.
The Foxes enjoyed a marvellous promotion campaign under Enzo Maresca during the 2023-24 term but did not fare as well in the Premier League.
The Italian head coach and key player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall departed last summer, leaving Leicester significantly weakened.
Neither Steve Cooper or Ruud van Nistelrooy were able to turn around the fortunes of the East Midlands outfit, who suffered an immediate relegation.
As a result, the King Power Stadium club are preparing for life back in the Championship, a division in which they will be one of the big boys.
Wrexham want Leicester shot-stopper Ward?
According to Sky Sports News, a goalkeeper could be making a high-profile switch across Championship battlelines ahead of the new campaign.
The report states that newly-promoted Wrexham are looking to bolster their shot-stopping ranks during the summer transfer window.
It is understood that the Red Dragons are eyeing up a deal for Leicester veteran Ward, who is set to depart the King Power Stadium.
It is believed that the Welsh side and the Foxes have entered talks over a possible deal involving the 31-year-old during this window.
However, a confirmation of an agreement is supposedly still a while away, with discussions only in the early stages for Ward.
Wrexham's goalkeeping ranks
With plenty of top-flight experience and caps for Wales on the international scene, Ward would fancy his chances of making a positive impact for Wrexham.
However, the 31-year-old might have to play second fiddle at the Racecourse, with Arthur Okonkwo a star in between the sticks last season.
The former Arsenal youngster kept 19 League One clean sheets as Wrexham finished second in the third tier behind record-breaking Birmingham City.
