Report: Former Swansea City boss Garry Monk appointed as new Leeds United manager

Former Swansea City manager Garry Monk is set to be appointed as Leeds United's new head coach, according to reports.

Former Swansea City manager Garry Monk has been appointed as Leeds United head coach on a one-year deal, according to reports.

The 37-year-old was sacked by the Swans in December 2015 after 18 months in charge of the Premier League side, while Championship outfit Leeds parted company with Steve Evans on Tuesday night.

Both Sky Sports News and BBC Sport have reported that Monk is set to become the sixth full-time head coach appointed by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino since June 2014.

The Yorkshire club have called a news conference for 2.30pm on Thursday.
