Mike van der Hoorn is to join Swansea City from Ajax in a £2m deal, having reportedly rejected the advances of both AC Milan and Trabzonspor.

Ajax defender Mike van der Hoorn has revealed that he is close to joining Swansea City after a fee was agreed between the two clubs.

The 23-year-old, who has one year left to run on his current deal, will now hold personal talks with the Swans before finalising a £2m switch.

Both AC Milan and Trabzonspor are said to have failed in their attempts to sign the Dutch centre-back, who spent the majority of last season playing for Ajax's second-string side.

Van der Hoorn told reporters that he would now negotiate his own salary and bonuses, describing Swansea as "a great club" to join.

Ajax paid around £3m to sign the centre-back from Utrecht three years ago, and has since gone on to make 49 first-team appearances.

Ajax ' Danish forward Viktor Fischer (L) scores the 4-1 goal past Heerenveen's goalkeeper Erwin Mulder during the Eredivisie football match Ajax vs Heereveen on December 5, 2015 in Amsterdam.
