Former Swansea City manager Garry Monk has become the bookies' favourite to be named the new Leeds United boss.

The 37-year-old has been out of work since getting sacked by Swansea in December following a 12-year association with the club.

Monk spent less than two years coaching at the Liberty Stadium, but is believed to be eager to get back into management, according to the South Wales Evening Post.

The former defender is Sky Bet's odds-on favourite to take over at Elland Road this summer as current boss Steve Evans is expected to leave when his contract expires at the end of June.

The club's owner Massimo Cellino has already made moves for MK Dons manager Karl Robinson and Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke, but has been unsuccessful in those approaches.
