Crystal Palace favourites to sign Emmanuel Adebayor?

Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of former Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to a report.

Crystal Palace have reportedly become the new favourites to sign free agent Emmanuel Adebayor.

It was thought that Watford were close to securing the services of the 31-year-old, who has been a free agent since he departed Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent in September.

However, according to The Mirror, Palace entered the running today and following discussions, the Togolese frontman is now on the verge of agreeing a move to Selhurst Park.

The report adds that Palace manager Alan Pardew turned his attention to Adebayor after his pursuits of Loic Remy and Charlie Austin were rebuffed.

As well as Spurs, Adebayor has also turned out for Metz, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
