Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly agree a fee with Porto for midfielder Ruben Neves, who has previously been linked with both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have allegedly moved a step closer to the signing of Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.

On Friday, it was reported that Wolves were favourites to pull off a remarkable transfer coup for the highly-rated 20-year-old, who has just represented Portugal at Under-21 Euro 2017.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with his signature, but according to the Express & Star, Wolves are now in prime position after agreeing a £15m fee with Porto.

It has been claimed that personal terms still need to be agreed with the player, but Wolves hope to complete the transfer in the coming days.

If a move is finalised, it would see Neves reunited with his former boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who was appointed as Wolves' new head coach at the start of June.

Neves made just seven starts under Nuno last season but he would likely be considered to be a first-team regular at Molineux.
