Report: Chelsea keen to snatch Tottenham Hotspur target Axel Witsel

Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg this month, but may have to battle Tottenham Hotspur for the deal.

Chelsea are reportedly keen to add Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel to their squad this month, but may have to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.

The Belgium international was linked with a £23m switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer, but a transfer never materialised.

According to the Daily Mail, Witsel is keen to leave the Russian club this month and Chelsea are hopeful of luring him to West London.

The 26-year-old is also believed to have attracted interest from Serie A side AC Milan.
