Jose Mourinho: "It is not the best result"

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits that he was frustrated that his side could not get off to a winning start in their Champions League campaign as they drew with Schalke 04.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he was disappointed that his side failed to beat Schalke 04 in their Champions League opener.

The Blues took the lead in the first half through Cesc Fabregas in controversial circumstances when it appeared that the Spaniard had fouled Max Meyer before his strike.

However, Mourinho's men failed to get a second goal, with Didier Drogba especially guilty of missing opportunities, and the German side drew level when Klaas-Jan Huntelaar found the net to earn his team a point.

Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "We had more than a couple of fantastic chances to win the game but we got a point. It is not the best result but it is a result.

"In the second half they scored, we had a good reaction and I have nothing to complain about with my players. Of course [Drogba] did his job, he had a good game and a good contribution.

"He missed the goal by a few inches and that would have been 2-0 but football is like this. Didier Drogba is not crying because of that miss."

Chelsea face Sporting Lisbon in their second Champions League Group G match on September 30.
