Burnley manager Sean Dyche reportedly agrees a new contract with the Clarets, despite speculation linking him with the vacant Crystal Palace job.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has reportedly agreed a new contract with the Clarets, despite speculation linking him with the vacant Crystal Palace post.

Dyche is the longest-serving current Premier League manager having spent eight-and-a-half years at Turf Moor, during which time he has been promoted to the top flight twice and is leading Burnley on their longest run in the Premier League - about to enter their sixth consecutive season.

The 49-year-old has been linked with the vacant Crystal Palace job as the South London club look for Roy Hodgson's replacement, but Dyche's position with Burnley is believed to have been secured after the club's £200m takeover from American firm ALK Capital.

According to 90min, Dyche will sign a new contract at Turf Moor as his current deal is due to expire at the end of next season, and he believes that he can guide the team to become a regular top-10 Premier League side.

Dyche has had to be a careful spender in the transfer market during his time in the North-West, however his new owners are expected to allow the club to spend more money this summer as they look to cement Burnley's Premier League status.

Since arriving at Burnley in 2012, Dyche has overseen 391 games for the club and achieved Burnley's highest-ever Premier League position in 2018 when his side finished seventh.
