Martin Odegaard insists that he is "very happy" at Arsenal amid rumours surrounding a permanent move from Real Madrid in the summer.

Norwegian playmaker Martin Odegaard has insisted that he is "very happy" at Arsenal amid speculation surrounding a permanent move.

The Real Madrid loanee has taken little time to adapt to Premier League football and produced a man-of-the-match display in the Gunners' thrilling 3-3 draw with West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Odegaard's bright performances under Mikel Arteta have inevitably led to rumours surrounding a permanent deal, and Arsenal are reportedly keen to keep the 22-year-old on the books beyond the end of the season, while the player himself has affirmed that he is enjoying life in North London.

Speaking to Norwegian outlet VG, the playmaker said: "I said many times that I've been looking for stability (in same club), but haven't found it.

"I think it'll be important to find stability. I'm very happy at Arsenal, enjoying myself. I like it here. Now my focus is to finish the season, then we'll see."

However, Arsenal's attempts to strike a permanent deal could be hindered by Odegaard's release clause in his Real Madrid contract, which is reported to be a whopping £300m.
