Arsenal transfer news: Boost for the Gunners as top target is pushed closer to the exit by current club

Bayern Munich give Arsenal-linked Leroy Sane 10 days to make a decision over his potential new contract or it will be withdrawn, according to a report.

Bayern Munich have reportedly given Leroy Sane a 10-day deadline to sign a new contract with the club, or he will leave on a free this summer.

It looked as though Sane was set to extend his contract at the Allianz Arena, but the German international has changed his agent recently, meaning the agreement is now off the table.

Instead, Sane is seeking improved terms compared to what was initially offered by Bayern, with his contract set to expire this summer.

That has alerted Arsenal, who are believed to be keeping tabs on the situation, as they look to bolster their front line ahead of next season.

Bayern standing firm in contract dispute

In order to plan for next season at the earliest possible moment, Bayern are keen for Sane to make a decision, and they will not budge on what they are offering the player.

Bild claim that Bayern are putting pressure on Sane to make a decision, giving the winger 10 days to either accept the initial offer which was put on the table, otherwise it will be withdrawn, and he will be free to leave the club.

The report states that the deal Bayern have offered Sane is for three years, and would see the player pick up roughly €200,000-per-week (£170,000pw), with the potential for additional lucrative bonuses.

Any talk of potential signing-on fees have also been swiftly rejected by Bayern, and is something that could swing the pendulum in Arsenal's favour, if they can promise that luxury to Sane.

A move to suit three parties?

Bayern expert and reporter Christian Falk has suggested that the Premier League would be Sane's preferred destination if he was to leave Munich this summer.

Sane left Manchester City for Bayern in 2020 after four years at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola, but the 29-year-old's next manager could be his apprentice Mikel Arteta.

While not held in quite the same esteem as he was in his younger days, Sane has still been an important player for Bayern this season, making 43 appearances so far and scoring 13 goals.

Goals in back-to-back games against Mainz and RB Leipzig recently have gotten the Bavarians over the line in the race for the Bundesliga title, as they held off Bayer Leverkusen to wrestle the crown back, after they were stunned by Xabi Alonso's men last season.

However, the emergence of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz could threaten Sane's future in the German national team, but a move to the Premier League may raise his profile further, especially if he can pick up where he left off in England.
