Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Wednesday's EFL Cup third-round clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal could once again be without just the two players for Wednesday's EFL Cup third-round battle with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men overcame Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League at the weekend without the services of Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu, who are dealing with groin and muscle injuries respectively.

No timeframe has been given on Tomiyasu's return, and his absence could open the door for Cedric Soares to make his first start of the season if Ben White is rested.

Matt Turner has also shaken off a groin issue and should replace Aaron Ramsdale in goal, while Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding should come in for Oleksandr Zinchenko and William Saliba.

Gabriel Magalhaes - the match-winner at Stamford Bridge - may hold his place, while Mohamed Elneny could join Albert Sambi Lokonga in midfield, giving the latter license to roam forward.

Marquinhos came up with a goal and assist for the Under-21s in their win over Everton at the weekend and could now be rewarded with a rare first-team start, with Bukayo Saka likely to be rested.

Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah should also benefit from rotation up front, with the latter scoring five goals in five EFL Cup matches for Arsenal in 2021-22.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Turner; Cedric, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Elneny, Lokonga; Marquinhos, Vieira, Nelson; Nketiah
