Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Arsenal on Saturday, January 23.

The January transfer window is now open, with Arsenal continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

The Gunners have endured a torrid first half of the season and have been tipped to bolster their ranks this month - in addition to offloading out-of-favour players - in a bid to turn their campaign around.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.

Saturday morning's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup:

Premier League pair Arsenal and Liverpool are both in the running to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid, according to a report.

The Brazil international has scored just three times in 23 games for the Spanish giants this term, 10 of those appearances being starts.

Spanish outlet Diario Madridista suggests that Madrid are looking to offload the 20-year-old this month in order to free up funds to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

Ironically, it is claimed that Mbappe's club Paris Saint-Germain have showed an interest in signing Vinicius, who has spent three seasons at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be weighing up a move, with the Reds having previously reached out to the player's agent regarding a transfer last summer.

The Gunners could pull off a double raid on Los Blancos as Martin Odegaard is also believed to be high up on their list of January targets.

Arsenal 'handed huge boost in Martin Odegaard pursuit'

Arsenal are seemingly in pole position to sign Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent days, although Real Sociedad, who had the Norway international on loan last season, were also mentioned as potential suitors.

Arsenal were thought to be facing a battle to win the race for his signature, but Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil has insisted that his side are not in the running for the attacker.

"I don't think that was an option at any time," Alguacil told reporters. "Clearly, with everything that he showed [here], what a good player he is, the team would grow even more, but at no time has there been any possibility that he would return here."

Odegaard scored seven goals and registered nine assists in 36 appearances for La Real last term before returning to the Bernabeu.

The Norwegian has found it difficult to make his mark for Zinedine Zidane's side this term, though, failing to score or register an assist in nine outings in all competitions.
