Cristiano Ronaldo has given every indication that he will sign a new contract with Al-Nassr.
On Sunday night, Ronaldo added yet another piece of silverware to his collection by helping Portugal win the UEFA Nations League.
After scoring his team's equaliser to make it 2-2 in Munich, Portugal ultimately overcame Spain on penalties, sparking jubilant scenes.
Once the game was over, there were inevitably questions regarding the 40-year-old's future when he has hinted in the past that 'the chapter was over'.
Despite contributing 74 goals and 16 assists from 77 games in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo has failed to help Al-Nassr to a league title.
What has Ronaldo said?
Having seemingly left the door open for a new challenge, there were allegedly opportunities to represent a new team at the Club World Cup.
Joining a Brazilian club seemed to be a particular possibility, but that door has since been closed by the veteran.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo said: “My future? Basically nothing is gonna change. Staying at Al Nassr? Yeah."
While a potential contract length is yet to be disclosed, the assumption is that it will be for one year given his age.
What next for Ronaldo?
Ronaldo needed to be withdrawn shortly before the full-time whistle for normal time on Sunday through injury.
With the forward having admitted it was an issue that he felt during the warm-up, a rest period would have been inevitable at this stage, rather than playing at the Club World Cup.
As many as 41 appearances were made for Al-Nassr during 2024-25, while a further nine outings have been made for Portugal, taking him to 220 during his illustrious career.
The next Saudi Pro League starts in August.
