New Zealand too strong for England

New Zealand record a 36-13 victory over England to secure a whitewash 3-0 success in the series.

England have fallen to a whitewash series defeat after losing 36-13 to New Zealand in Hamilton.

Stuart Lancaster's side have matched the world champions during the first two Test matches, but they were blown away on Saturday by a blistering performance from the All Blacks.

The home side took the lead as early as the fourth minute when the ball was worked out to Julian Savea, who powered his way past Mike Brown before touching down over the line.

Freddie Burns reduced the deficit to two points soon afterwards, but Savea had his second try a minute later after showing fine touch to scoop a low ball before side-stepping the England defence.

A penalty apiece from Aaron Curden and Burns saw the score move to 15-6, but two tries in the space of four minutes from Aaron Smith put New Zealand in full control.

England went into the break 29-6 down, but they returned for the second half determined to end the series on a high, and Marland Yarde wasted little time in recording a try after good work from Ben Youngs and Manu Tuilagi.

However, despite a topsy-turvy half that saw both teams display their attacking power, neither team could add to the scoreline throughout the second period until Savea capped off a fine display with a try in the final minute.

New Zealand retrieved the ball on the right flank before releasing the 23-year-old in the centre, bulldozing his way to the line to seal an emphatic win for his team.
