Preview: Bahrain vs. Panama - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's International Friendlies clash between Bahrain and Panama, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Bahrain will entertain the challenge of Panama on Tuesday evening in an international friendly matchup at the Bahrain National Stadium.

With neither team featuring at November's World Cup in Qatar, the clash in Riffa could very well be their last involvement of the current calendar year.

Match preview

Bahrain fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in Friday's feisty encounter, which yielded six yellow cards and a sending-off.

Helio Sousa's men went behind to Diney Borges's 12th-minute but managed to draw level through Ali Haram just shy of the half-hour mark, after which Ryan Mendes struck the winner 10 minutes into the second half.

As a result, the Pearl Divers have now seen their five-game winning run come to an end and will be looking to bounce back as soon as possible.

Lying in store next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit who suffered a heavy 5-0 loss in the only previous clash back in 2005.

With clean sheets in three of their most recent five outings on home turf, Tuesday's hosts go in search of another solid display at the back to serve as a platform to build upon going forward.

Panama's perfect start to the CONCACAF Nations League campaign came to an end on June 12 following a goalless draw against Martinique at the Stade Pierre-Aliker.

Thomas Christiansen's men were in the ascendancy for the majority of the contest but failed to convert that dominance into anything significant.

Nonetheless, Los Canaleros remain top of Group B with seven points from three matches, four points clear of nearest challengers Costa Rica.

Still without an away victory in seven games since the turn of the year, Tuesday's visitors have it all to do as they look to end their barren streak on the road.

Team News

Following his strike against Cape Verde, Ali Haram has now netted in three of his last four international outings and will be aiming to deliver the goods once again.

Haram's strike partner Yusuf Hilal failed to extend his goal scoring streak to three games last time out, but he remains one to keep an eye on.

Panama's Anibal Godoy is currently sidelined with a muscle injury, and the 32-year-old will not play any part in Tuesday's contest.

With a combined 230 international appearances between them, Albert Quintero and Gabriel Torres are both expected to feature for the away side.

Bahrain possible starting lineup:
Sayed; Al Hayam, Al-Hooti, Isa, Ayyad; Saeed, Madan, Al-Malood, Marhoon; Haram, Hilal

Panama possible starting lineup:
Mejia; Davis, Miller, Escobar, Murillo; Barcenas, Carrasquilla, Martinez, Quintero; Torres, Blackburn

We say: Bahrain 1-1 Panama

With only little to play for in this one, we predict an open and end-to-end affair with goals at both ends and a share of the spoils come the sound of the final whistle.
