Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States, may return to the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, following his high-profile appearance at the event in 2024.

Last year, Trump's unexpected presence in the paddock, as a guest of real estate businessman Steven Witkoff, sparked significant attention, particularly as it coincided with a planned $250,000-per-ticket fundraiser for his 2024 presidential campaign, which was halted by race organisers for violating suite usage terms.

Now, with Trump's recent re-election and ongoing controversy over international tariffs, Le Journal de Montreal reports that he is scheduled to arrive in Florida on Thursday evening, raising speculation about another Grand Prix visit.

Trump's itinerary includes a senatorial fundraiser in Palm Beach with Vice President JD Vance, approximately an hour's drive from the Miami International Autodrome, which weaves through Hard Rock Stadium. The circuit is also less than 100 kilometres from Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.

Le Journal de Montreal noted, "It will soon be known whether Trump will attend the grand prix, as Secret Service officials would be clearly visible on site."

With no public appearances listed in Trump's schedule for Friday or Saturday, his potential attendance remains unconfirmed but plausible, given his proximity and history with the event. In 2024, Trump's visit, accompanied by a significant Secret Service detail, included a stop at McLaren's garage, where he met team CEO Zak Brown, F1 boss Stefano Domenicali, and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, underscoring the logistical coordination required for such appearances.
