Winston Reid strikes late to snatch victory for West Ham United in their Premier League clash against Sunderland at the London Stadium.

West Ham United left it until the 94th minute to snatch all three points from Sunderland in Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash at the London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic's side have struggled for wins this season, but they have now claimed their first back-to-back victories in the top flight thanks to Winston Reid's late goal.

Sunderland's despair continues as they are now nine league games without a win, which has kept them rooted to the bottom of the table.

The Hammers started the brighter of the two teams and Dimitri Payet almost scored an opener in the fifth minute with a curling shot from outside the box, but his attempt drifted wide of the post.

The home side continued to dominate and pepper Sunderland's goal, while David Moyes's side struggled to create many moments of threat in the early stages of the game.

Payet, Manuel Lanzini and Simone Zaza linked up for West Ham before the Italian unleashed a shot, which was deflected wide by Lamine Kone.

As the clock ticked by, the Black Cats were more encouraged by their ability to keep the hosts quiet, but they still struggled to cause trouble for goalkeeper Adrian.

At the other end of the pitch, Payet showed some impressive skill with a dummy, and edged into the box before striking a low shot, which bounced off the post.

Sunderland began to show signs of promise after the half-hour mark when Wahbi Khazri's free kick found Jack Rodwell in the box, but his header glanced over the bar.

A few minutes later Patrick van Aanholt's 20-yard shot soared over the top of the target, and after the half-time break, Khazri's attempt was saved by Adrian after the midfielder went through on goal.

The game become quite stretched as the clock ticked along, but West Ham edged the opportunities, one of which resulted in Edimilson Fernandes blazing over the bar.

It looked as though the game was heading for a stalemate as neither side could find that clinical touch, but the match was turned on its head four minutes into injury time.

The goal came from a corner, which was taken short and played to Reid on the edge of the box, where the defender drilled a low shot into the back of the net.

West Ham sit 15th in the league table after picking up 10 points from nine games.
