Bojan Krkic scores in Stoke City draw

New signing Bojan Krkic is on target as Stoke City draw with Blackburn Rovers in their pre-season friendly at Ewood Park.

Bojan Krkic showed Stoke City manager Mark Hughes his worth as he netted a second-half goal in their friendly draw with Championship Blackburn Rovers.

The Lancashire outfit started brightly and Tom Cairney almost gave the Ewood Park faithful cause to cheer when he robbed Charlie Adam in possession, before trying a deft chip over Asmir Begovic, but his effort was off target.

Marko Arnautovic squandered arguably Stoke's best first-half chance when he moved inside and his left-foot shot was only a matter of inches away from Paul Robinson's far post.

However, it was Blackburn who took the lead when Craig Conway's well-placed cross was met by a glancing header from last season's top scorer Jordan Rhodes.

Rhodes almost doubled their lead on 68 minutes when he met Joshua King's cross, but this time his header was wide of the target.

Seconds later, the Potters were back on level terms thanks to new signing Bojan, who unleashed a low drilled shot from 20 yards out that Robinson was unable to keep out.

Stoke nearly snatched a late victory when Mame Biram Diouf and Robert Huth had opportunities to score, but both were unable to find a way past the veteran Rovers stopper.
