Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte reveals that Son Heung-min is set for a spell on the sidelines with a muscular injury.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has admitted that Son Heung-min could be out of action for a number of weeks through injury.

The South Korea international played 79 minutes of the EFL Cup semi-final first leg defeat to Chelsea in midweek before making way in an apparent tactical substitution.

However, ahead of Sunday's FA Cup encounter with Morecambe, Conte revealed to reporters that Son is carrying a muscular problem and could be absent until after the next international break.

"It was a strange situation. Against Chelsea I made two substitutions together, Lucas Moura and Son. Not for injury, their sub, but to try to give them 15 minutes of rest," Conte told a press conference, as quoted by football.london.

"The day after Son felt a bit of pain in his muscle, in his leg and he had a scan. Now we have to make the right evaluations from the doctors. He's an injury. I don't know but probably they could stay without training session until the end of this cycle, before the international break."

Son has banked nine goals and five assists in all competitions for Tottenham this season and was recently voted the Best Footballer in Asia for a seventh time.
