Harry Kane's record vs. Everton

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash with Everton, Sports Mole takes a look at Harry Kane's record against the Toffees.

Tottenham Hotspur will aim to record a third successive win in all tournaments when they play host to Everton in Saturday evening's Premier League clash.

The Lilywhites have picked up back-to-back wins over Brighton & Hove Albion and Eintracht Frankfurt in the past week, beating the Seagulls 1-0 before a 3-2 Champions League win over the latter.

Talismanic striker Harry Kane found the back of the net in both games to take his tally for the season to nine goals in all tournaments, and the England captain is no stranger to success against Everton.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Kane's record against the Toffees ahead of Saturday's top-flight contest.

Kane has faced Everton 15 times in his career in all competitions, with 14 of those outings coming in the Premier League and one FA Cup quarter-final in the 2020-21 season.

All of the striker's appearances against the Merseyside club have come for Tottenham, and after drawing a blank on his first clash with the Toffees, he netted at the second time of asking in a 1-0 win on the final day of the 2014-15 season.

Kane then failed to net in either of Tottenham's draws with Everton in the 2015-16 campaign, but he came up with a brace at White Hart Lane in a 3-2 win during the 2016-17 season.

That was the first of four consecutive Premier League doubles for Kane against Everton, whom he scored four goals against during the 2017-18 season, helping Spurs win both games by an aggregate score of 7-0.

Kane's fourth straight brace against Everton came in a 6-2 win at Goodison Park in December 2018, but he missed the next two Premier League meetings due to a ligament injury and illness respectively.

The 29-year-old then went two games without a goal against Everton before February 2021, where he headed home off the bench in the FA Cup fifth round to force extra time, but Spurs ultimately lost 5-4.

Nevertheless, Kane's penchant for braces against Frank Lampard's side remained very much alive, as he struck twice in a 2-2 Premier League draw in April 2021.

Last season, the England skipper and Tottenham settled for a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park in Antonio Conte's first game in charge, but he then came up with his sixth brace in this fixture when Spurs ran out 5-0 winners in North London back in March.

The only other player to strike as many braces against a single opponent in the Premier League was Alan Shearer, who hit six doubles and a hat-trick against Leeds United.

All in all, Kane has registered an impressive 14 goals from 15 games against Everton in all competitions, including 13 strikes from 14 Premier League outings, winning eight, drawing five and losing one of those matches.

Everton are Kane's joint-second favourite opponents to play against behind Leicester City (20) - he has also scored 14 times against Arsenal - but he has rather surprisingly never claimed an assist versus the Toffees.

Nevertheless, with the Englishman always willing to drop deep and link up with Son Heung-min, he will endeavour to bring such a barren playmaking run to an end on Saturday evening.
