Middlesbrough complete the signing of West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher on a four-year deal.

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher on a four-year contract.

Since the arrival of new boss Garry Monk, Boro have been active in the transfer market as they look to build a squad capable of returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Earlier this week, reports began to emerge that the North-East outfit were looking to bring in the 21-year-old, who played just 354 minutes of top-flight football last season.

It has now been confirmed that the former Manchester United academy prospect has penned a long-term deal at the Riverside Stadium, with the fee allegedly in the region of £6.5m.

Fletcher has experience of the Championship with Barnsley, where he netted four goals in 20 appearances during the second half of the 2015-16 campaign.

The striker leaves the London Stadium having made just three starts and scoring only one goal during his year at the club.
