Nottingham Forest are reportedly plotting a 'sensational' move to sign Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.
After enjoying a rich success with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and providing 64 assists in 137 games, Sancho moved to Old Trafford in 2021.
The dream move turned sour as the England winger failed to recapture his best form for his new club, managing just 12 goals in 82 appearances before falling out with then-manager Erik ten Hag.
Sancho joined Chelsea on loan last season, and although he impressed at times under Enzo Maresca, the Blues decided against signing him permanently.
Forest were heavily linked with a move for Sancho last summer, and according to The Sun, they are ready to try their luck again to bring him to the City Ground in the current transfer window.
Sancho likely to leave Old Trafford in the summer window
The 25-year-old returned to United for pre-season training, but the Red Devils are desperate to offload him.
Sancho is among the five players who have reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave.
Ruben Amorim has already signed Matheus Cunha, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have reached a £70m package agreement to sign Bryan Mbuembo from Brentford.
While Amorim would be open to welcoming the unwanted players if they fail to find a new club, it appears that Sancho would be able to secure his exit from Old Trafford at some point, as he has no shortage of suitors.
Forest want Sancho as a replacement for Anthony Elanga
The report claims that Forest see Sancho as a 'dream replacement' for Elanga, who has joined Newcastle United this summer.
The 23-year-old winger was cast aside by United, but he became a huge hit at the City Ground. Forest believe Sancho could follow a similar redemption and reignite his career under Nuno Espirito Santo.
With Morgan Gibbs-White possibly heading out after being reportedly chased by Tottenham Hotspur, a headline signing like Sancho could excite the Forest fan base.
