Turkish club Fenerbahce are reportedly 'preparing' to make an offer to sign Marcus Rashford, who is almost certain to leave Manchester United this summer.
Rashford, who progressed through the youth academy at Old Trafford, fell out of favour with Ruben Amorim after he declared in December last year that he wanted a new challenge.
The England international joined Aston Villa on loan in the January transfer window, but the Midlands club opted against signing him permanently.
La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the 27-year-old forward, but they can only afford him on loan.
According to a report from T24, Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho, who previously worked with Rashford during his time at United, wants to reunite with his former player at the Turkish club.
Rashford could become the record signing for Fenerbahce
Amorim is keen to move Rashford out. United probably hoped to secure a high transfer fee for the striker, who scored 138 goals for the Red Devils, but it appears they may have to settle for other options.
Fenerbahce are preparing an offer to sign the England winger initially on loan, with the option to sign him permanently for around €46 million (£53m).
Mourinho guided the Turkish club to a second-place finish in the league, 11 points behind Galatasaray. The former Real Madrid manager aims to build a strong squad capable of winning the Turkish league, and he sees Rashford as a perfect fit for his side.
Youssef En-Nesyri is currently the most expensive signing in Fenerbahce's 118-year history, having joined from Sevilla in 2024 for a fee of around £17.3m. Rashford would easily break the transfer record if an agreement is reached.
Should Rashford consider moving to Turkey?
Rashford would ideally love to join a top club in Spain, Italy, or Germany, but as of now, there have been no concrete offers for him.
A reunion with Mourinho could excite him, as he enjoyed a bright spell under the Portuguese, scoring 28 goals in two seasons.
However, a move to Turkey could hamper his prospects of playing for England again, unless he regains his form and rediscovers his scoring touch.
