Manchester United want around £50m for unsettled attacker Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly refuse to allow Jadon Sancho to leave the club for a cut-price fee in January, with the Red Devils valuing him at around £50m.

The England international has not played for the 20-time English champions since the end of August due to his high-profile and ongoing feud with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag.

Sancho, according to Ten Hag, was not involved in the squad against Arsenal at the start of September due to poor performances in training, but the 23-year-old insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat".

Ten Hag is believed to have been willing to bring the forward back into the fold if he apologised, but due to the amount of time that has now passed, even a sorry from Sancho at this stage is unlikely to resolve the situation.

The ex-Manchester City attacker is widely expected to leave in January, with a number of clubs, including Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, linked with his signature.

Teams from Saudi Arabia are also said to be keeping an eye on events at Old Trafford, with a switch to the Saudi Pro League seen as a possibility despite Sancho preferring to remain in Europe.

Juventus have allegedly already failed with a loan move for Sancho, with Man United making it clear that they want to sell him in January rather than sanction a short-term exit.

According to The Mirror, despite the club's desire to move him on, the Red Devils will refuse to allow him to depart for a cut-price fee.

The report claims that Man United value Sancho in the region of £50m due to his age and the fact that he was one of the best young forwards in Europe during his time at Dortmund.

The club could struggle to attract suitors at that price, though, with the majority of clubs in Europe reluctant to pay out huge fees in January.

Sancho's wages are said to be around £275,000 a week, which is another reason why the club are so desperate to move him on, as he is currently not involved with the first team in any form.

Al Ettifaq are believed to have attempted to acquire the forward on loan towards the end of the Saudi Arabian transfer window but were not willing to pay £50m to sign him permanently next summer, which Man United had demanded to be included in the deal.

Sancho, who has another three years left to run on his contract, has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances during a disappointing spell at Man United.

The Englishman's expected departure at the start of 2024 will almost certainly put the Red Devils in the market for a replacement, with the club's budget set to be boosted by the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
