Manchester United have reportedly made a third offer for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils have thus far been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the Cameroon international, with two offers being rejected by the Bees.
Newcastle United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed an interest in Mbeumo this summer, but it is understood that the attacker has made it clear that he only wants to make the move to Old Trafford.
Having failed with an opening offer worth £55m, Man United's second bid is said to have been in excess of £62m, but Brentford were not happy with the structure of the deal, wanting more money to be paid up front.
The Bees have allegedly since signalled that the price is now £70m, and there were suggestions that the 20-time English champions could walk away from the transfer saga.
Man United 'make improved bid worth £70m' for Mbeumo
However, according to journalist David Ornstein, Man United have submitted a third offer for the Cameroonian.
Ornstein claims that the Red Devils have offered £65m as a fixed fee, with £5m in add-ons, which meets Brentford's valuation, although it remains to be seen whether the structure is deemed suitable.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the offer and said that the 20-time English champions are confident that they will be able to get a deal over the line despite the delay.
Romano claims that Brentford are looking to bring in Ipswich Town's Omari Hutchinson as a replacement, and the expectation is that Mbeumo will move to Man United in time for him to be involved in their pre-season tour of the US.
When could Mbeumo make his Man United debut?
Man United will kick off their preparations for the 2025-26 Premier League season with a friendly against Leeds United on Saturday, but Mbeumo will certainly not have joined in time for that match.
The Red Devils will then head to the United States early next week for a pre-season tour, taking on West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton, before returning to England to face Fiorentina on July 9.
Mbeumo could make his debut in the Premier League Summer Series fixture against West Ham on July 26.
The 25-year-old has scored 70 goals and registered 51 assists in 242 appearances for Brentford in all competitions.
Last season, the versatile attacker made 42 appearances for the Bees, scoring nine goals and registering nine assists, and he has been a leading target for Ruben Amorim's team this summer.
