Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says that Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Diogo Dalot are all working to be fit for the Europa League final.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Diogo Dalot are all working to be fit for the Europa League final next week.

The Red Devils will tackle Tottenham Hotspur in the showpiece event at San Mames in Bilbao, Spain on Wednesday night.

Yoro limped off against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and the defender's reaction suggested that he was a major doubt for the all-Premier League contest on May 21.

Amorim, speaking during his press conference on Wednesday, has not ruled Yoro out of the final, while De Ligt and Heaven also have chances of being available, in addition to Dalot.

"I don't know if they are going to be available. We are going to try and push because it is the final matches and there is a final. All the players want to play in that really bad. I don't think they will go to Chelsea, but we will have a possibility to have some of them in the final," the Man United head coach told reporters.

"Dalot is trying really bad. I don't want to risk Dalot because when you start getting one injury, a second injury, it is a big thing. We cannot have these kinds of problems in our squad. We will see. He is working really hard to get in the final."

Yoro, De Ligt, Heaven, Dalot could all make Europa League final

De Ligt recovered from a foot injury before suffering a knee issue against Brentford at the start of this month, but Amorim did say last week that the Netherlands international could be involved against Chelsea.

As for Heaven, the former Arsenal defender has not featured since the Premier League clash with Leicester City on March 16.

The teenager did make a quicker-than-expected recovery from an ankle issue to make the bench against Newcastle United on April 13, but a setback in training has meant that he has not been in a squad since.

Dalot, meanwhile, is dealing with a troublesome calf issue which has sidelined him since April 20.

Amorim: "This season has been really tough on everybody"

Amorim has said that while success in the Europa League final would not overshadow an extremely difficult campaign, the mood around the club would shift if a major European trophy was secured.

"A final is different. But this season has been really tough on everybody; the results and the changing in the staff. You can feel it. We are addressing that during the season, we are changing the way we play during the season, so the environment is tough," he said.

"But I guarantee you when we are playing a game in the Europa League the environment is different and you can feel the excitement.

"Personally for me, I think the Champions League is more important for everything, to prepare the next season. We are supposed to be in the Champions League; the Europa League here is not enough. This is the best way to get us to the top in a few years."

Man United are currently down in 16th spot in the Premier League table, with the Red Devils losing an incredible 17 times in England's top flight this season.
