Jonas Hector says that he is happy at FC Koln, but would consider a move to Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp came calling.

FC Koln defender Jonas Hector has suggested that Jurgen Klopp could convince him to consider a move to Liverpool, but "at the moment" he is focused on his current club.

The Germany international, who is believed to be valued at around £12m, has been linked with a switch to Anfield.

Hector has more than two years remaining on his contract at the Bundesliga outfit, but has not completely ruled out a transfer to Merseyside.

"You always have to consider whether you are ready to take the next step, but at the moment I am not thinking about it," Hector told Eurosport. "I think what we have to do at FC Koln is enough. I also have with the national team a big tournament ahead of us."

When asked if a call from Klopp would make him change his mind, the defender replied: "Then I would start to think about it."

The 25-year-old joined Koln in 2012.
