Mohamed Salah reportedly wants the number nine shirt at Anfield ahead of his £35m move to Liverpool from Roma.

Mohamed Salah has reportedly set his sights on the number nine shirt at Liverpool ahead of his big-money move from Roma.

The Egyptian international was scheduled to fly to the UK on Tuesday to finalise a £35m transfer.

The club are yet to confirm the deal, but numerous reports in the British media have claimed that the move is close to completion.

According to the Liverpool Echo, once everything is done and dusted, Salah wants to be handed the number nine shirt, which was vacated by Christian Benteke when he left last year.

The attacker, who is expected to sign a five-year deal at Anfield, wears number 11 at Roma.
