Liverpool's 10 most expensive signings ever as Hugo Ekitike joins exclusive Reds list

Sports Mole looks at the most expensive signings in Liverpool's glittering history.

Liverpool have been the Premier League's leading spenders, with the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi joining the champions this summer transfer window.

Despite such significant expenditure, the Reds later confirmed the signing of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday in a deal worth an initial £69m, potentially rising to £79m.

His fee does not quite match the £100m that the Merseysiders paid Bayer Leverkusen for Wirtz, but his transfer knocks Fabinho off of the list of Liverpool's ten most expensive additions.

The club have also been linked with other players this transfer window - including Newcastle United's Alexander Isak - and there could be more new entries on the list.

To mark Ekitike's arrival at Anfield, Sports Mole takes a look at the most expensive signings in Liverpool's illustrious history.
