Leeds United are reportedly in the race for Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters, with Everton and Leicester City also keen on the full-back.

Leeds United are reportedly interested in Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters ahead of the summer transfer window.

The full-back was the centre of a great deal of speculation during the winter trading point, when the likes of Leicester City and Everton were linked to the player.

There was also supposedly an £8m bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for the services of Walker-Peters, who ultimately remained on the South coast.

Despite his best efforts, the two-time England international has been unable to prevent the Saints from experiencing a rotten time on their return to the top flight.

After 25 matches of the league campaign, Ivan Juric's troops have collected a mere nine points and find themselves rooted firmly to the foot of the Premier League rankings.

Leeds join Everton, Leicester in Walker-Peters pursuit?

According to an update from TBR Football, a new English club have entered the race for the signature of Southampton man Walker-Peters ahead of the summer.

The report claims that Premier League-chasing Leeds are in the hunt for the services of the 27-year-old, who is edging towards a St Mary's exit.

It is understood that Daniel Farke's Whites - alongside Everton and Leicester - were exploring the possibility of a January swoop for Walker-Peters.

However, with the struggling Saints standing firm at their £7m asking price for the defender, none of the potential suitors were able to strike a deal.

With his current contract on the South coast expiring at the conclusion of the season, Walker-Peters is hurtling towards free-agent status ahead of the summer.

Will Leeds be in the KWP market?

Leicester's involvement in the off-season race for Walker-Peters will be dependent on whether they can maintain their Premier League place.

There is also a similar narrative emerging at Elland Road, where Leeds would be unlikely to capture the talents of the defender without the ability to offer top-flight football.

After a last-gasp success over promotion rivals Sunderland on Monday night, the Yorkshire outfit are seven points clear of third place in the Championship standings.
