Juventus are reportedly weighing up a potential swap deal that would see Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club in exchange for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi.

The Portuguese star is entering the final year of his contract and faces an uncertain future in Turin, following the arrival of head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Ronaldo's current deal is worth around £3.8m per month, but the Serie A giants may struggle to offer the 36-year-old a new contract due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Juve are at risk of losing Ronaldo for nothing and so, according to L'Equipe, they are prepared to offer him to PSG in exchange for Icardi if they fail to agree terms on a new deal.

Icardi has been admired by Juventus for some time, with the Italians missing out on his signature last summer as the striker moved to Paris instead.

The 28-year-old's former club Inter Milan could potentially profit from this transfer, as they inserted a clause in his contract at PSG, meaning the French outfit would be forced to pay them £12m if they were to sell the striker to another Serie A club.

Icardi made 28 appearances across all competitions for PSG last season, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists.
