Christian Vieri to come out of retirement

Former Italy striker Christian Vieri announces that he is coming out of retirement at the age of 43 to play in China.

Former Italy striker Christian Vieri has announced that he is coming out of retirement to play in China.

The 43-year-old initially hung up his boots in 2009 following a career that saw him score 236 goals in 476 appearances.

Vieri's most notable spell came at Inter Milan, where he scored 103 goals in 143 matches following a world-record Β£32m move from Lazio in 1999.


Vieri, who scored 23 goals in 49 appearances for Italy, also played for the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan during a well-travelled career.
