Ipswich Town's return to the promised land of the Premier League was both long-awaited and short-lived, as Kieran McKenna's men were sent tumbling straight back down to the Championship for 2025-26.

Defenders Cameron Burgess and Axel Tuanzebe have also moved on, along with forward Marcus Harness, leaving gaps to be filled across the squad.

Fan favourite Massimo Luongo is the latest to leave the club following the expiration of his contract, meaning a central midfielder will also be on the list of required incomings.

In response, Ipswich have begun reshaping their team with the signing of experienced goalkeeper David Button on a free transfer from Reading. His arrival not only strengthens their goalkeeping department following the departure of assistant goalkeeping coach David Martin but also provides valuable experience to support the club's younger keepers.

With their first summer recruit through the door, further additions are expected in the coming weeks - particularly in attack, where a replacement for Delap remains a priority. McKenna will no doubt be keen to reinforce across the pitch as Ipswich aim to regroup and challenge for an immediate return to the top flight.
