Fulham confirm that they have accepted a bid from Aston Villa for striker Ross McCormack.

Fulham have confirmed that they have accepted a bid from Aston Villa for striker Ross McCormack.

Norwich City were the early frontrunners to sign the 29-year-old after reportedly submitting an £11m bid for his services.

However, the Canaries were rebuffed in their attempts, which gave Villa an opportunity to swoop in.

The Midlands outfit, who were recently taken over by Chinese businessman Dr Tony Xia, are said to have offered £12m, with additional bonuses should the club earn promotion back to the Premier League.

This morning, Fulham announced that Villa's bid has been accepted, but the figure was not disclosed. A brief statement read: "The club can confirm that a bid has been accepted from Aston Villa for Ross McCormack. Further details will be announced in due course."

McCormack has been pivotal in Fulham's attack over the past two seasons, scoring 42 goals in total.
