Norwich City have announced that midfielder Wes Hoolahan has signed a new two-year contract at the club.

The 34-year-old, who has committed to the newly-demoted Championship outfit until 2018, will celebrate 10 years with the Canaries when his new deal expires.

Hoolahan, who joined Norwich following a one-year stint at Blackpool, has made 338 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 45 goals.

"Wes has always been a special player for us," manager Alex Neil told the club's official website. "More often than not, he's the one I turn to when I need someone to deliver something for me, and he never really lets me down.

"He's a quality player. We all know his qualities. He'll be key for us this year."

Norwich, who were relegated from the Premier League alongside Aston Villa and Newcastle United last season, will kick off the 2016-17 campaign away to Blackburn Rovers this Saturday.
