Emile Smith Rowe and Aaron Ramsdale make their first England starts for Monday's final World Cup 2022 qualifier with basement side San Marino.

Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith Rowe have been handed their first England starts for Monday's final World Cup 2022 Qualifying clash against San Marino.

The Three Lions sit three points clear of Poland at the top of Group I and simply need to avoid defeat against the microstate to book their ticket into next year's tournament in Qatar.

Gareth Southgate was always expected to make changes aplenty for this battle, especially with Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling all withdrawing from the squad after the 5-0 thrashing of Albania.

Smith Rowe came off the bench for his debut in that encounter and has been named in the first XI for tonight's game, while Ramsdale wins the battle to start in goal and make his Three Lions debut.

Bukayo Saka completes a trio of Arsenal representatives in the first XI, while Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings earn expected starts in the heart of defence alongside Harry Maguire.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham also feature in Southgate's starting lineup, with late call-up Conor Gallagher among the substitutes alongside Tammy Abraham as Harry Kane leads the line.

England starting lineup: Ramsdale; Coady, Maguire, Mings; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Bellingham, Saka; Foden, Kane, Smith Rowe
