Thursday's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup: Billy Gilmour, David Alaba

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Thursday, December 10.

The summer transfer window has now closed, with Chelsea among the busiest clubs and biggest spenders in world football.

After two windows without signing a single player, the Blues made up for lost time by splashing well over £200m on the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy and Thiago Silva. Attention will now switch to the January window and whether Chelsea will invest heavily again.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.

Billy Gilmour has hinted that he would consider an exit from Chelsea if he cannot break back into the starting lineup.

After missing four months with a knee injury, Gilmour will start for Chelsea when they take on FC Krasnodar in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

However, with a number of players now ahead of him in the pecking order, the 19-year-old has suggested that he may look at his options if he is restricted to substitute outings during the second half of the season.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, the Scot said: "I am a Chelsea player right now. I don't know what the future holds, but I am proud to be here and playing games and will have to wait to see what happens.

"The gaffer has been really good with me. He has been speaking to me while I have been injured. I need to work hard here and get my opportunity and when I do, hopefully, I take it and play well. It has been a long time out with my first major injury."

Frank Lampard has already insisted that Gilmour will not be loaned out during the January transfer window.

Chelsea 'in four-way fight for David Alaba'

Chelsea are reportedly locked in a battle with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

The Austria international's current deal at the Allianz Arena is due to expire next summer, meaning that, as it stands, he will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs at the start of 2021.

A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the versatile defender, who remains a key player for the treble winners despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

According to Bild, Alaba's agent Pini Zahavi has put together a four-club shortlist for his client, and La Liga giants Barca and Real Madrid are at the top of the selection.

The report claims that PSG have also been included, while Chelsea are firmly in the hunt for the 28-year-old, who has won nine Bundesliga titles during his time at Bayern.

Alaba has made 401 appearances for Der FCB, including 15 outings in all competitions this season.
