Premier League side Burnley reportedly see their £5m bid for Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas rejected by the Tigers.

Hull City have rejected a £5m offer from Burnley for midfielder Sam Clucas, according to reports.

The 26-year-old was one of the Tigers' most consistent performers last season, but could not prevent his side from making an immediate return to the Championship.

According to the Daily Mail, Clarets manager Sean Dyche is looking to reinvest some of the money earned from the sale of Andre Gray to Watford on Clucas.

However, the report suggests that Hull are unwilling to part with the former Leicester City player, Leonid Slutsky wanting to keep his squad as intact as possible to spearhead a promotion tilt this season.

Since moving to the KCOM Stadium in 2015, Clucas has scored nine times in 94 matches in all competitions.
